"A Patch of Fog"

A psychological thriller that creeped me out. A lonely security guard catches an author/TV personality shoplifting. Instead of turning him in, he blackmails him into being his friend. He eventually ends turning his life into a total nightmare. The acting is absolutely superb. The security guard is one of the most evil characters I've seen in a long, long time. Warning: this one will surely haunt you.

"Come What May"

Beautiful epic drama set during WWII. The story focuses on a German Nazi resister who flees to a small French village with his young son. As the Germans near the village, all the townspeople decide to head south. The father and son are separated, and the rest of the film centers on their journeys. Beautifully shot and great acting. A deeply moving and heartfelt story.

"Hot Fuzz"

A London cop is assigned to a small British town because he's so good, he's making the others on the force look bad. After he arrives he discovers it's a town of real characters. Then things get strange. Very strange. There's a string of unexplained murders, which he investigates with his partner Dave,  the son of the police chief. Then things get even weirder. The ending is sort a spoof of the average blockbuster American action film. What a hoot. It's a wacky comedy as only the English can do. Well written, witty dialogue, and well acted.
