"Some Freaks"

This is an offbeat, coming of age movie. It's about a couple of high school misfits: A one-eyed boy (Matt) and an overweight girl (Jill). The two meet and fall in love. Of course, they're bullied by their classmates but they have the comfort of each other. When Jill moves across the country to attend college, they're relationship changes. Matt visits her at school and he's surprised that she's starting to get into shape. She's definitely not the same person she was in high school. Great acting and good writing. It's described as a romantic comedy. It's not either one.

"Summertime" or "L'estate addosso"

Beautiful, heartfelt film about two Italian teens who travel to San Fransisco and spend their summer with a gay couple. There's not much of a plot, but the movie follows their adventures and their evolving relationships with each other. They end up going to Cuba together, before they return to Italy. Nice photography, scenery, and superb acting.

"From the Land of the Moon"

What a wonderful movie. It's a French film about a young woman who has an arranged marriage. She develops a serious medical condition which requires her to go to a health spa in Switzerland. While there, she falls in love with an injured soldier. When she gets home her memory of the the past is in question. Nice twist at the end. The acting, photography, and story are phenomenal. Well worth the 2 hour time length.

"El Camino Christmas".

It sounds like it could be a sequel of a movie called "El Camino," a film about a bunch of greasers. Believe me, it's not. It's a very off-the-wall movie that's very entertaining. And just when you think you know where the plot is going, guess again. It's a total riot. It starts out with a a hostage situation in a party story. And then movie takes off from there.
